Laura's journey with us began when she picked up the phone to call us. Feeling terrified and powerless as a result of the abuse she had received from her spouse, she was expecting another child and feared for the safety of her toddler, the baby as well as her own.

Within moments, she felt a sense of relief as the calm and supportive voice on the other end reassured her that we would work with her to help her get away from her abuser.

While each survivor's story is personal and unique, Laura's story echoes the voices of many women who have turned to the Women's Center for the strength and support they needed to survive domestic violence.
